From firebreather/stiltwalker to head of a business of more than 5,000 employees without compromising his original goal in life – now THAT takes some creative planning!! A street performer from Quebec, Guy Laliberte, wanted to spend his life traveling and entertaining. NEWPORT’S SOLAR POWERED COMPACTOR – MAKING A MOLEHILL OUT OF A MOUNTAIN
How’s this for going green? Newport, Rhode Island, along with many other municipalities, has installed Solar Powered Trash Compactors. These closed receptacles cut down on odors and rodent problems while being able to hold up to five times the amount of trash that non-compacting units hold. Once the trash has been compacted to its capacity (using only solar power) a signal is sent out for the box to be emptied. This green idea cuts down on the amount of labor needed and amount of fuel used by the city or establishment. Let’s hope this idea is picking up!
